The doorbell chimed a mere three minutes before two o’clock and I took a deep breath before stepping to open the door. My usual cocky demeanor was nowhere to be found as my brain took in the beauty that now stood before me on my front porch. This woman rendered me speechless, something no one else on this earth has ever managed to do.
My eyes met hers, and for a moment we both stood there staring at one another. This was a woman I had held in my arms. We’d once kissed so passionately that I could honestly say if that were all we’d shared I would have walked away satisfied. She’d willingly opened herself to me, offering up not only her body, but also her heart, and without even realizing it I had done the same. I wasn’t sure how it was possible, but she was even more beautiful today than when we met. Dark jeans were molded to her long legs, and a red low-cut sweater set off her thick mass of pale blonde curls. My eyes then traveled down to her feet where I found another sexy as hell pair of boots.
“Ryhann, it’s good to see you again.” I offered up a smile and panic momentarily filled me as I feared she may pass out in front of me. I watched as she regained her composure and we each took a step toward the other, opening our arms for a brief hug. In that moment of brief contact I felt her body go rigid beneath me.
Ohh-Kayy, that was awkward.

INTERVIEW WITH TWISTED FATE
Hey everyone it’s Melissa from Alpha Book Club again. And I’m here to interview the one and only Twisted Fate!! Hopefully I can make it through this interview without totally fangirling.
So hello there gentlemen!! So gentlemen for those who don’t know you why don’t you introduce yourselves and the what your role is in the band
So, I’m Jesse Montgomery and I’m the lead singer (he gives a quick wink to me I think I may faint, wow)…..
Tyler Montgomery, I play lead guitar and sing back-up
David Garrison, I play bass and also sing back-up
Sam Cooper, and I’m the drummer extraordinaire (he flashes a big grin and waves at me)
So now that we have that out of the way…...let’s get started
How did this hot ass band start??
(Tyler answers) Well, from the time he was little Jesse was always singing and plucking away on the guitar. The two of us started goofing around one day in the garage and David passed by and heard us. One thing led to another and Sammy came on board and before we knew it we were playing frat parties and local bar gigs. It took a few years before someone finally took notice and gave us our big break, but now here we are.
How do you come up with your songs?? Is there one main songwriter in the group?
Jesse does most of the writing. He’s the best at writing the mushy love songs. (David laughs)
(Jesse takes over speaking) Well, that is true, I do most of the writing. But Tyler wrote a song for his wife, and the guys have collaborated with me on a few of them. For the most part the songs come from personal shit that one of us may be dealing with. But there are songs that just hit me out of the clear blue and I find myself dropping what I’m doing and jotting down the lyrics. I keep pads of paper all around my house and in my car for those creative emergencies.
It’s true, they’re everywhere. (Rhyann chimes in from across the room)
Out of all your songs, which one is your favorite (this is for all of you obviously)
(Jesse answers)That’s a damn good question, and a hard one to narrow down. I love all of our music, but I am a sucker for the ballads. Like, I love the songs my wife inspires (and believe me she inspires a lot of f*@#ing songs). I guess one of my favorites would have to be Letting Go. That one represented a turning point in my life that changed me for the better brought me to where I am today.
For me it would have to be Driving it Home because there’s a kickass drum solo in that one. Jesse wrote it just for me to shine. I love the songs when I get to be center stage for a bit.
Yeah it’s nice to have the spotlight off the pretty boy every once in awhile. (David interrupts - obviously referring to Jesse)
Damn, I don’t know that I have a favorite. I guess if I thought about it long enough I would have to say Give it Up. That one has a hard driving beat and reminds me of the sound we had when we first started playing in the garage. It’s loud and crazy, kinda like Sammy. (he gives Sam a jaunty wink before crossing his tattoo covered arms)
Hands down it’s the song I wrote for Stef, Runaway Train. I’m proud of it for many reasons, but the grammy sitting on my mantel was the icing on the cake. (Tyler smiles shyly while Jesse looks on with great pride in his brother)
What’s the best thing about being in this band?
Being together and living the dream (they answer simultaneously, almost as if they’ve answered this one before)
Do you enjoy being on the road for long periods at a time while touring??
Not at all (Jesse immediately answers). Staying in hotels and eating out all the time grows old. I like sleeping in my own bed, next to my sexy ass wife.
Aww, thanks baby. I like you in our bed too. (Rhyann blows a kiss from across the room)
I don’t really mind it, but then again I don’t have someone at home waiting for me. I like getting to see different parts of the world, but we stay so busy we mostly only see the hotel and the arenas. (Sam replies)
I miss my wife. Stef used to come with me but now that Jesse has the three kids she stays home and helps Rhyann as much as she can.
I’m going to enjoy it while I can because I know that all too soon I will be in the same boat as these two. But I do have a woman that’s making it harder and harder to leave home. (his gaze shifts across the room, landing directly on the beautiful Melonie Taylor)
What about significant others?? Who here has one?? Don’t be shy spill it….
Sam is the only single member of the group, but we’re working on that aren’t we buddy? (David gives Sam a hard jab in the ribs with his elbow)
How do they feel about touring?
I’ve loved touring with the guys over the years. We’ve seen some amazing sights and met some wonderful people along the way. (Stef answers)
I’ve only been on tour once. After J.J. was born they went overseas for three months but I stayed home. I’d love the chance to travel with my husband but three kids makes it hard to do much of anything these days. But I do remember how much fun tour bus sex can be. (Rhyann smiles and gazes longingly over at her sexy husband)
Hey, now there’s an idea. One more place to have uninterrupted sex. Quick, someone call Charlie and have him park the bus in my front yard! (Jesse calls out to no one in particular - prompting everyone to laugh)
Well, I’ve only been on the short U.S. bus tour, but it was a blast. We saw some pretty awesome cities, and ate some delicious food. Though I do remember you two missing out on quite a few of those excursions because you were locked up in your room. It’s no wonder you have three kids, with all the sex you two have. (Mel teases her best friend)
Even better how do they handle the whole groupie thing?
Oh, I hate those f*@#ing groupies! (Rhyann interjects) Some of those women have no regard for the fact that these guys are married with a family.
God, they drive me nuts most of the time, but I know my husband and he knows he’s got it good at home.
That’s right baby, you give it to me good. (Tyler snickers as Stef rolls her eyes at him)
Well, seeing as how I’m not married to David I try to let it all roll off me. But I‘d be lying if I said I didn’t want to skin some of those bitches alive when they touch him.
How do you guys handle the groupies??
Well, a few years back Jesse used to handle them enough for the rest of us. (Sam laughs)
Hey, we don’t talk about those things anymore Sammy, remember? (Rhyann glares at him)
Let’s just say over the past few years we’ve beefed up security so that we don’t have to deal with a lot of that anymore. Fans are great, don’t get us wrong, but there are those few that can turn an innocent autograph into an overtly sexual opportunity in no time flat. (Jesse informs me, and the guys all nod their heads in agreement)
So now the fun questions
Who’s the messiest on the bus?
Jesse. He is always writing music and leaving crumpled pieces of paper and half-empty water bottles lying around. (Tyler offers)
The loudest?
Sammy (they all scream out in unison - including Sam himself)
The laziest?
Tyler (Jesse shouts) It’s because he’s so used to Stef doing everything for him!
Misses home the most?
Hands down that has to be Jesse. He’s got his wife and those adorable little carpet crawlers waiting for him to call every night. (David cuffs Jesse on the shoulder as he says this)
Stays up the latest?
Oh that would totally be David. He stays up watching movies and video chatting all night.
Eats the most?
Sam (Stef chimes in)
Drinks the most?
Tyler and Jesse can put away a lot of booze, especially those first few nights away from home. (David looks at them both and smiles) But it sure makes for some fun nights!
Parties the hardest?
None of us really party all that hard anymore, but Sam probably has the most opportunity to cut loose, so I’m going to say him. (Tyler states)
Yeah, gotta be Sam cause my wife would kill me if I spent my nights out partying while she was home changing diapers. (Jesse quips and David nods his head)
Hooked up with the most fans?
(The guys all look at me in a way that tells me I already know the answer to this question… It has to be Jesse)
For those of you not in a relationship, tell me and all the other ladies interested what you look for in a girl??
(David looks at me and holds up his finger to point at Mel) I’ve already found a woman that rocks my world.
Awww, right back at ya, Bear. (She blows him a bunch of kisses)
Let’s see… (Sam thinks for a moment) First off she has to have a great sense of humor. I love to laugh and be happy. I don’t like girls that play bullshit mind games. I don’t need that shit. Hair color doesn’t matter to me. I just want someone with a good heart that loves my friends like they are her own family. She has to know how to cook, cause I love to eat, as you already know. And she has to love our music. Music is a huge part of my life and if she can’t stand listening to me beating on my drum kit all hours of the night then she’s not going to make the cut.
Where do you see your band in 10 years??
Hopefully still selling out arenas and able to make it through a two hour set without needing a break! (Tyler lets out a snort)
Yeah, what he said, only we’ll be the ones needing a break. He’s going to be old enough to need a walker! (raucous laughter erupts between all the guys - even the girls join in)
Any last words for your fans? I know they’d love to hear whatever you have to say!!
(Jesse leans in closer to answer) Yeah, we are laying down tracks on the new album and that should be out early next month. We have a U.S. tour coming up next spring and we’d love to see you all there.
Stay tuned for more from us. We’re not done telling our story yet (He gives me a sexy ass wink and I know that he’s referring to the next book in the series. I can’t wait to read it!)
Thanks for the chat boys!! I look forward to chatting with you again :)
