Oppression: 

We meet a young lady named Elyse on the worst day of her young life. What has happened? Who is Anna? Who is Betsy? How does she know them? What are they to her? The next moment we see Elyse, she is moving into her new apartment above a coffee/pastry shop. Who does she meet outside of the shop? What happens after meeting this person? Who are William, Kara, Nics, and the others? What is 'The Institute'? Where is it located? How old is Elyse? How old on the worst day of her life and now? Who is Iosif? What is 'The Council'? Who are they? Why do they have hatred for those that are not part of the Council? Why do they want Elyse? What is this Prophecy that everyone keeps talking about? What is the thing that triggers the Prophecy? You're going to have to read and find out.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Uprising:  Uprising picks up literally where Oppression leaves off. We watch Mac leading William and Elyse to a cabin in the woods. Who is Mac and what is his Ancestry? What special ability does he have? Who is Florence? How does she show up at the cabin? What does she tell Elyse? When it truly becomes known who and what Elyse is, what happens? Does she get pregnant? Does The Council win? This book is full of many twists, turns, and even some red herrings. There is mystery, suspence, romance, and war going on in this book. Find out why it is happening. To do so, you will need to read it, and I really recommend reading the first book before this one.                                                                       Redemption: In this third book of the series, we see everything come to a head. We find out what happens after the Descendents think that the Council is gone, and what Adrianna is up to. Who is Sarah? When she is kidnapped, what happens? What is Adrianna doing with trying to 'restart' the Council with the next generation? What happens to them? The visions that Elyse has been graced with here and  there, what do we find out about them? Do any of them come true? If so, which ones? When things in the United States go to pot, what has happened? What did the Council do? Who did it and why? You're going to have to see if they can truly get Redemption for things a Descendents or not. This was a book full of action, heartbreak, love, friendship, death, suspense, and much more! Enjoy.

Author Bio:
Jessica Therrien is the author of the young adult paranormal fiction series Children of the Gods. Book one in the series, Oppression, became a Barnes & Noble best-seller shortly after its release.
Aside from her Children of the Gods series, Jessica’s work can also be found in a published collection of flash fiction stories called Campaigner Challenges 2011. Out of over 350 submissions her story, The Soulless, won first place for people’s choice and fourth place in the judging round of Rachael Harrie’s Writing Campaign Challenge. Her story, Saved, is also available as part of the anthology.
Jessica spent most of her life in the small town of Chilcoot, California, high up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. In this town of nearly 100 residents, with no street lights or grocery stores, there was little to do but find ways to be creative. Her mother, the local English teacher, inspired her to do all things artistic, and ultimately instilled in her a love for language.
In 2003, Jessica attended California State University Long Beach where her passion for language found her studying Chinese, and in 2005 she moved to Taiwan to study abroad. From 2005 to 2006 Jessica was fully immersed in the Chinese language as she attended National Taiwan University, and in 2008 she graduated from San Diego State University magna cum laude.
Jessica currently lives in Irvine with her husband and two sons. She is working on an adult novel and a children’s picture book.
