Vengeance was something I’d been waiting all my life to deliver. It would be sweet and worth every risk I’d taken to get to this point.

I was moments away from pulling the trigger, taking the life of the man who’d cost my father his…

And then she was dragged into the room, struggling and fighting for freedom.

The moment I set eyes on Tavia, everything changed. Those darker than espresso eyes were full of fear, her mouth so ripe that had once begged me to devour it trembling in fright. She looked up at me through a curtain of thick, long lashes and gasped.

“Theo,” she whispered, her voice cracking as those eyes I’d fallen hard for filled with tears. “Help me.”

It was then I realized my Tavia was also his.

My enemy’s daughter.

Can a woman who’s been burned by love open her heart to Jack for the holidays—and maybe forever?
Dear Readers,
The love stories in my family have always been fodder for romance novels.
My maternal grandmother and grandfather simultaneously ran a business together and raised four daughters, long before it was an accepted thing to do.  Grandpa O’Dell ran the gas station and the barber shop; Grandma O’Dell managed the grocery and cooked for customers.  They were true partners and madly in love and parted, tragically, way too soon when he succumbed to cancer when he was in his early fifties.  Grandma grieved deeply but eventually picked herself up, started a new career as a cafeteria chef, and eventually found deep romantic love and happiness again, in the form of a second marriage.
My paternal grandmother also bucked tradition.  At twenty-six, she had turned down many a suitor, and instead focused on a career as a court reporter.   That led to an introduction to a handsome young attorney, who also happened to be blind.  She went to work for Roy John Gillen as a legal secretary, married him, produced six children, and continued doing his secretarial work through his long and distinguished career as an Ohio State Senator and then an Ohio State Court of Appeals judge.  My Grandfather Gillen (Pap to all his grandkids) never liked having any other secretary but my grandmother, so they hired help to assist with the children, the cooking, and the cleaning, and she did all his typing and correspondence.  They were married fifty-two years, and every year on their anniversary—which was Christmas Eve—Pap sent Grandma Myrna a dozen red roses.   I thought it was swoon-worthy then, and I still do!
My mother was a nursing student at Holzer Hospital in Gallipolis, Ohio when she heard rumor that a handsome young pre-med student had been brought into the hospital with a broken nose.  (He had been playing baseball with friends and got walloped.)   Never one to let opportunity pass, my mother quickly got herself assigned to the young doctor-to-be.   They both claimed it was love at first sight.  He was as smitten as she was.  They dated steadily.  And —over the protests of both sets of parents—who wanted them to wait until my dad actually was a doctor—married  a few days before my dad began his studies at Vanderbilt University Medical School, producing six children and many memories during the fifty-two years they were married.
As for my own romance, I met my husband Charlie when we were in high school.  We were both in the marching band at the time, and one sunny fall afternoon, while standing around in uniform, waiting for the Lebanon Honey Festival parade to begin, a very cute upperclassman  approached me.  He smiled, and said, “Hi.  You don’t know me.  I’m a friend of your brother’s.”
I rolled my eyes and sighed and said, just as frankly and seriously, ”Any friend of my brother’s, is no friend of mine.”
Charlie insisted, “No.  Seriously.  I am a friend of your brother’s.  It’s okay for you to talk to me.”
I returned, “The fact you are a friend of my brother Steve is exactly why I should never talk to you.”
And we were off.  Repartee flying.   Persistence in our opinions, on both our parts.  By the time, I changed my mind and thought maybe I should have talked to him, Charlie had taken me at my word, and gone off to pursue someone else.  I dated someone else, too.  But Charlie had captured my attention, and I lusted after him secretly for the entire next year.  Then I broke up with my boyfriend, he broke up with his girlfriend.  I enlisted another friend of mine to signal that maybe I was interested.  (Oh, the drama, the intrigue!)  He asked me out.  We started dating, and never looked back.
Together, we’ve weathered high school and college and marriage and kids and pets,  graduations, weddings, and even  grandkids.  We’ve helped each other through career ups and downs:  transitions, hurdles, and achievements.  Together, we’ve moved cross-country numerous times, nursed family members through long illnesses, and stood hand in hand as we said our final goodbyes to loved ones.
All that has led me to believe that life is tough for all of us.  For every ounce of joy we wring out of it, we have an equal share of challenges.  What makes it all worthwhile is family.
And family is what I write about in every book.
To date, I’ve written and published over one hundred novels.  Many are out of print, many are coming back in print via e-readers.  (Hurrah!)  In each story, I try to provide a few laughs, maybe a few tears, a few problems that seem… at first… unsolvable.  As well as a lot of love.
I thank all the readers who have supported me and my work over the years, and I welcome all the new ones with open arms, and much gratitude.  Knowing I’ve made someone’s day a little brighter, with one of my books, is the best gift I could ever receive.
So look around the site.  You’ll discover what’s new, and what you may have missed.  As well as a few recipes.
Welcome!  And happy reading!

RELEASE BLITZ - Biker Beauties Volume 1 by Audrey Carlan

Title: Biker Beauties Volume 1
Series: Biker Beauties #1-2
Author: Audrey Carlan
Genre: Erotic Romance
Release Date: December 30, 2019

From Audrey Carlan, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Calendar Girl series.

Biker Babe (Biker Beauties #1)

Princess. That’s what the club calls me. I’m not frilly, into pink, or expect a man to woo me with chocolates and flowers. I don’t need candlelit dinners and long walks on the beach.

I’m not the girl you take home to your parents. I like wild, fun, and good times. I’m the kind of girl you put on the back of your bike and ride through the night…in more ways than one.

I like the wind in my hair and the open road before me. I was born a biker princess and I’ll be one until the day I die. The man in my life can try to tame me, but he’ll have one hell of a fight on his hands. Though if he wins, he’ll get the ultimate prize…all of me. Devoted. His old lady through thick and thin.

So when I opened my store, aptly named Biker Babe, I didn’t expect to have the biggest, sexiest, most jaw-dropping man walk into my shop and set my world on fire. I wanted him instantly. Only problem, my father is the president of the Hero’s Pride MC, and Taggart “Rex” Crawford is his new Vice President.

Our Pride likes to live wild and ride free but everyone knows the President’s daughter is off limits.

Biker Beloved (Biker Beauties #2)

The day I found out I was going to be a father was the scariest, most shocking moment of my life. Worse, my brand new baby girl was dropped off in the arms of my motorcycle club, abandoned by her mother while I was fighting in Afghanistan. Of course, I did what I had to do, and returned home as soon as possible.

At this point in my life, women were the last thing on my mind. I could easily pick up one at the bar or partake of the many club girls vying for The Pride’s attention.

Then she entered my sights.

Anya Markova.

It was her eyes I noticed first. Bright blue and haunted. They spoke of a sadness I wanted nothing more than to whisk away. My first attempt at wooing her didn’t go well. Anya wasn’t the type of girl I could just pick up. She was the type I’d need to court…relentlessly.

When I found out Anya was my daughter’s much-admired ballet teacher, I knew exactly what I had to do—and I wasn’t above using my daughter’s love of her new teacher to make it happen. Because throughout my years in the club, serving my country, traveling the world, I’d never met a woman who made my soul sigh the way she did.

Now, I’d stop at nothing to make this stunning ballerina my old lady.

The Biker Beauties is a collection of interconnected standalone novellas. They can be read out of order if desired. They are high in heat, but don’t forget the sweet.

BLOG TOUR: Tall, Dark, & Furious by R.L. Mathewson

Title: Tall, Dark & Furious
Author: R.L. Mathewson
Genre: Paranormal, Romance
Series: A Pyte/Sentinel Novel #6

From bestselling author R.L. Mathewson comes the sixth installment of the Pyte/Sentinel Series…
For readers who enjoy paranormal romance with a twist.
For three centuries, Trace waited for this moment, imagined all the things that he would do to the Pack that tried to kill him, and now that he was free…
All he could think about was the woman that he’d claimed as his own. She was everything that he’d always wanted and once he had his revenge, he would make her his.
Sam had resigned herself to a lot of things over the years, being the town joke, blacking out at inopportune moments, and living with a dog that hated her, but what she hadn’t planned on was suddenly finding five large men destroying her basement, looking for a tomb that she never knew existed. In one moment, her life changed forever, leaving her to wonder how she was going to make it out of this alive.

“I really hate you,” Samantha informed the traitor that was following her as she tightened the towel around herself while she tried to ignore the splitting headache that was starting to concern her. She quickly made her way to her bedroom and once she was there, she slammed the door shut in the little bastard’s face only to bite back a groan when she realized that she wasn’t alone.
“What’s this?” the man that had barged into the bathroom a total of fifteen times to make sure that she was doing as she was told before stealing her clothes, asked from where he sat on her bed, examining her old iPod.
“It’s an iPod,” she said, absently noting that he was now wearing a pair of Nathan’s old jeans and had probably already searched her brother’s bedroom.
“What does it do?” he asked, as she walked over to her dresser, wondering if he’d found anything that she could use to get out of this.
“It plays music,” she said as she quickly grabbed some clothes, hoping to get dressed before-
“And this?” he asked, drawing her attention back to find him holding-
“Oh, my god!” she gasped as she dropped the clothes in her arms to rescue Bob before he realized what it was for, but something, mainly the way that his eyes suddenly turned red and that growl that she really shouldn’t find sexy was torn from his throat, told her that he’d just figured it out.
With a somewhat hysterical smile, she managed to grab Bob from him and shove it back in the nightstand drawer with the hopes that there wouldn’t be any follow up questions, but of course with the way that her day was going, she really should have expected it.
“What do you use that for, wife?” he asked, making her wince.
“It’s umm, a sleep aide?” she said absently, wondering if he’d found-
“And this?” he asked in that same deep sexy growl that let her know that yes, yes, he had indeed found her pocket rocket.
The sound of Bob Jr. turning on only confirmed it. Reminding herself that she needed to tread lightly here, she turned around, and mumbled, “It helps with the sleep aide,” noting the way that his red eyes narrowed on her before she quickly turned around as she shut it off and shoved it in the drawer with Bob. Once that was done, she turned around and-
“What’s a call?” he suddenly demanded as he picked up a large black duffle bag that she hadn’t noticed before and dropped it on her bed.
“A call?” she repeated back slowly as she did her best to keep her gaze from wandering towards the cellphone on her nightstand.
“I need a call,” he said firmly as those terrifying red eyes locked on her.

Q & A
  1. What is a Pyte?
A Pyte is a true immortal. He is the product of a vampire and a human woman. Pytes can also have children of their own day. They’re born as weak as a human baby, but the difference is that they need to consume blood as well food in order to thrive. If they don’t, they’re left weaker, will grow slower to the point that they’ll appear to be younger than they are.
If they survive to their sixteenth birthday, they will go into a coma where they’ll go through their transformation, becoming everything that they were meant to become and once they’re done, they’re immortal and nothing will be able to kill them. They’ll appear human but have all the strengths of a vampire with none of the weaknesses. They can go in the sun, withstand holy relics, and have the ability to create another Pyte.
Once they’ve created another Pyte, they’ll be able to create a stronger breed of vampire, which is why Masters, shifters, and Sentinels all over the world are desperate to get their hands on them. Masters want them to create a stronger army of vampires for them while shifters and Sentinels are willing to do anything to stop them.
Their immortality should make them unstoppable, but it’s their one true weakness.
  1. It’s been four years since Fated was published, what happened?
Life happened, unfortunately. In 2015 and 2016, we were dealing with a lot of stuff, a lot of changes, and thankfully, we were finally able to move. It was a very necessary move for our safety, so a lot of things were put on hold for a while. I focused on taking care of the kids, getting them settled, finally getting my son’s autism diagnosis, which has actually been a big relief finally getting answers. I did my best to keep working, I focused on contemporaries since they were the easiest to write.
When I write paranormal novels, I like to take my time, make sure the details are correct, develop the characters a little more so that they are able to make the world that I’m trying to create more believable. Basically, I stress over every detail.
I never planned on letting this much time go by between the books. I actually hadn’t realized it had until this past year when readers started to ask about the books. It’s the same for the Cursed Heart series. The books were supposed to be out a lot sooner than this. My goal for 2020 is to catch up with the books and get most of the series caught up.
  1. Who is Trace? We haven’t heard about him in the series before. Is he a new series?
Trace is new to the series. His father is Ethan, who you met very briefly in Tall, Dark & Heartless. He is the vampire that Caine contacted to get information about Pytes so that he could help his mate. Trace is his son that went missing centuries ago and has never stopped looking for.
Trace is a Pyte and brand new to the series as is his mate. With that being said, Kale plays a very important part in this book and you will get to see the others as well. Jill and Joshua are in this book as well. You will get more information in this book, more answers and a better sense of where the series is heading.
  1. Who will be next in the series?
Kale’s book will be next. His book is titled Unstoppable. His mate will be the key to the series. I have a lot of plans for that couple. It’s actually already started and I am looking forward to getting back to it. I am hoping for a Halloween release, but I don’t want to jinx myself. At this point, I’m just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.
  1. Will Jill and Joshua ever get their own books?
Yes, but it won’t be anytime soon. Joshua plays a crucial part in this series so I need him to do a few things before we can redeem him. As for Jill, her character has a few more trials to go through before her story will be ready to be told.
  1. There’s a rumor going around that there will be a YA series for the Pytes. Is that true?
Yes, there is a Pyte YA series in the works. I have been playing with the idea for the past few years and trying to narrow it done to what I want. I’ve been debating a few things and I’m almost ready to start. I will say this, Marc will not be in this series only because he will not have his mate until he’s well into his adulthood. The one thing that I’m truly debating about the YA series is whether it will be focused on one couple or a new couple for every book. I’ll know more about where the series is heading once the first book is done.
  1. What makes your Pyte/Sentinel series different than the rest?
Well, for one, the concept of a Pyte is my creation, something that I’ve been toying with since I was a kid. There are a lot of vampire romance novels out there, with different takes on what a vampire is, how they’re created, their weaknesses, etc. and they’re great, but the Pyte/Sentinel series does it a little bit differently. I’ve tried to create a world that could easily blend in with ours with humans completely oblivious to the real world around them.
I’ve created this world so that even readers who don’t normally like paranormal romance enjoy these books because I try my best to make the characters relatable. The Pyte/Sentinel world is not overwhelming with paranormal aspects filling every page. The books ease readers into the story and allow them to keep up without having to remember all the different rules or concepts that make up this world.

New York Times Bestselling author, R.L. Mathewson was born Massachusetts. She’s known for her humor, quick wit and ability to write relatable characters. She currently has several paranormal and contemporary romance series published including the Neighbor from Hell series.

Growing up, R.L. Mathewson was a painfully shy bookworm. After high school she attended college, worked as a bellhop, fast food cook, and a museum worker until she decided to take an EMT course. Working as an EMT helped her get over her shyness as well as left her with some fond memories and some rather disturbing ones that from time to time show up in one of her books.

Today, R.L. Mathewson is the single mother of two children that keep her on her toes. She has a bit of a romance novel addiction as well as a major hot chocolate addiction and on a perfect day, she combines the two.
