COVER REVEAL: Savage Hate by Amanda Richardson

Title: Savage Hate
Series: Savage Hearts #1
Author: Amanda Richardson
Genre: Reverse Harem Bully Romance
Release Date: December 28, 2021

BLURB

There are three names that have haunted me for ten years.

Silas, Damon, Jude.

I never wanted to come back to Greythorn, MA. And I never thought I’d see Silas Huxley, Damon Brooks, or Jude Vanderbilt again—especially not after what happened.

But here they are, in all of their grown, badass glory—brutal, tatted, muscular, and no longer the boys I knew in high school—the boys I bullied relentlessly.

I made their life a living hell back then, so they plan on making my life a living hell now.

They’re out for blood—my blood. Their ruthless thirst for revenge turns my skin to ice, and I soon discover just how savage and hateful they are.

But despite popular opinion, my life was never full of butterflies and sunshine. I’ve endured a hell of a lot worse than what they plan to do to me.

They may think I’m back in Greythorn with my tail between my legs, all battered and bruised—but what they’ve forgotten is that I am the original Queen of Ravenwood.

And I refuse to be dethroned.

Savage Hate is full-length enemies-to-lovers reverse harem romance. It is book one of the Savage Hearts series, and while it doesn’t end with a true cliffhanger, there will be unanswered questions. Book two will be releasing on February 15, 2022. It is advised to read them in order. *Please note Savage Hate contains explicit language, bullying, needles, and violence. There are flashbacks of abuse/trauma. The series will have a HEA.

EXCERPT

He rubs my collarbone for several seconds, the cold antibacterial wipe causing goosebumps to erupt everywhere. And then he blows cool air on that sensitive, wet part of me, and I nearly jump out of my seat.
“Whoa, there,” he purrs, and I ignore it–all of it.
The way his voice is low and velvety, the smell of his skin and the rubber of the gloves, the way his fingers keep brushing that part of my collarbone–and the way that I can hear him breathing.
“Buckle up,” he says quietly, and I hiss as the needle hits my skin.
“Ow,” I whine, and Damon and Jude chuckle in the background. “Oh, you’re one to talk, Jude,” I mutter, and I hear Damon cover his laugh with a cough. “Let’s see all of your tattoos,” I add, feeling very high and mighty.
“Oh, I have tattoos, Lennon,” he utters, his voice low and sensuous. “If you’re lucky, maybe I’ll let you see them up close.”
I squeeze my legs together, and somehow, I’m imagining his… thing. He has tattoos down… there? What are they? Why there? What do they look like?
Silas is gentle enough, and the burning sensation of the needle gives way to a tickling one–and I grind my jaw to keep from making any noises. Not noises of pain–just… noises. It feels like my skin is on fire in the best way possible. I squirm in my chair, trying to get rid of the tension building up. I want to scream, and it’s starting to feel really good.
“Nearly done,” Silas says slowly, and in some sick, twisted way, I am disappointed with that fact. “You did well,” he adds lightly, and I hear him turn the gun off. I open my eyes, squinting at the brightness of the light above us.
“It looks so much more painful in the movies,” I say, my hands shaking with adrenaline. I feel like I could run a thousand miles. “That was… incredible.”
I can’t stop smiling, and Silas dabs my sore collarbone a few times. I see him wipe it down one more time, and then he takes some antibiotic ointment. I try not to moan as his fingers lightly dab the sore area. Why am I having this reaction? It’s almost like I’m… turned on. He opens a bandage and places it over the ink. I assume he chose a horrendous font for bully, and I have zero desire to actually see it, so I let him cover it up without looking.
“Keep this on for twelve hours,” he says slowly, moving my chair to a seated position. “After twelve hours, wash with antibacterial soap three times a day, and follow up with fragrance-free lotion.” He furrows his brows. “And do not pick at it when it scabs over.”
I nod, trying to remember the instructions. “Okay, sure.” I look down at the bandage. “Is it… horrible?”
He snaps his gloves off and discards them, crossing his arms. I ignore the way it pushes his muscles up and out, or the way his ink looks against his black t-shirt, contrasting with his golden skin.
“It’s exactly what I would’ve chosen for you.”
I digest his words for a few seconds, and his eyes don’t leave mine. “Oh… so, that bad, huh?”
He smirks. “Just be patient and don’t peek until tomorrow.”
I nod and stand, all of a sudden feeling slightly woozy. Silas reaches a hand out and helps me balance myself.
“The adrenaline will trick you,” he murmurs, low enough for only me to hear. “It’ll make you want to run and scream and fuck, all at the same time.”
Lord, the way he says fuck
“Emphasis on the fucking,” he adds, and I swallow as my heart thumps against my ribs.

EXCERPT

When Max Hogan got done with his shower and put on a t-shirt and cargo shorts, he called his neighbor, Lester Sinclair, Mikey’s father. Lester answered on the first ring.
“Hi Max. Feel like some home cooking?”
Max winced. “You don’t have to go to any trouble. I was planning on Pollard’s for some chicken. How does that sound?”
“Sounds great, but only if you let me pay,” the older man said.
“Normally that would be great, but I won a bet with Cullen today. He thought he could beat me on the obstacle course. He lost. I’ve got cash burning a hole in my pocket.”
Lester let out a hearty laugh. “Well if we’re eating on Cullen’s dime, let’s go for it. You know what Mikey and I like. Come on over.”
“I should be there in about a half hour.”
“Sounds good.”
Max picked up the keys on his counter, plus the hot wheels that he’d bought last weekend and left his house. He moved his truck to the street, then locked it. It was a perfect night for a drive in the convertible, what’s more Mikey would love a ride in the convertible. He drove over to Pollard’s and put in an order for twenty pieces of chicken, mashed potatoes, hush puppies, coleslaw, corn on the cob, fried okra, cinnamon apples, green beans and homemade corn muffins. He knew that Lester was on a tight budget so this should last awhile.
When he parked the Cougar on the street in front of the Sinclair’s house he wasn’t surprised in the least to see Mikey out front waiting for him. The big man’s grin was a sight for sore eyes.
“Max! Max! Max! I mowed your grass! Did you see? Did you?”
He was practically jumping up and down in excitement.
He ran down the walkway and gripped the side of Max’s car.
“I can help carry in dinner? Did you get hush puppies? Them’s my favorite.”
“I did,” Max assured Mikey. He handed him one of the bags, then hit the button to bring the top up so he could lock the car while he was inside with Mikey and Lester. By the time he walked up to the door Mikey had the screen door open, waiting for him.
“I got your mail today, too!”
Max grinned at Mikey’s exuberance. Everything the man said was an exclamation, how could anyone be unhappy when they were around someone so filled with joy?
“Mikey, don’t block the door and let Max in, the food is getting cold.”
“I’m not Dad, I’m helping.” Max handed Mikey another sack of food and followed him into the kitchen table. Lester had already started to unload the containers of food.
“What did you do, buy out the entire restaurant?” Lester asked.
“I was hungry and everything looked good,” Max explained. He dumped the last bag onto the table and went to the cupboard to get the plates, then grabbed the silverware they were going to need. When he was done he reached into the fridge and found the ever present pitcher of sweet iced tea. He might spend a lot of time over at his friend and teammate’s home, but if he had to say where he felt most comfortable, it was with Lester and Mikey, it reminded him of some of the homes he and grown up in.
When they got settled down at the table, Mikey grabbed their hands. “Can I say grace?” he asked?
“Of course,” Lester answered.
“Bless us oh Lord, and these our guests for the bounty for which we are about to receive, thank you, Amen. And thank for a whole bunch of food from Max, especially the hush puppies.”

Title: Stay: A Copperslane Romance Novel
Series: Copperslane #2

Genre: New Adult Romance
Light Beauty & the Beast Retelling
Release Date: November 23, 2021

BLURB

Two names––opposing meanings.

Lizzie:

DuBois––a name of pain. The root-word of heartbreak.

Saber was the boy terrorizing our school halls. His uncle was the man who exterminated the happiness in my life by taking my parents from me.

I’ve spent the last seventeen years shutting out the nightmares, piecing my existence back together.

But the bandages are fragile.

Saber’s return to Copperslane shreds through the tender healing I’ve tried to nurture.

I’m left with two hopes.

That Saber doesn’t stay and he’ll stop looking at me like he understands pain.

Saber:

I never thought a name could be a light. But in my darkest moments, Eliza is the single hope I’ve ever known.

She was the candle guiding me out of the abyss.

Seeing her reawakens dreams once lost––that her love is mine.

Unfortunately, our twisted past weaves only suffering for my flower.

And her thinking that I know nothing of pain shreds through my heart.

Now I’m wondering if I should stay, and if she's my fiore at all anymore.

Stay is an adult novel and while it is not a dark romance, some of the subjects matters this book touches on are dark. Not all themes are explicitly shown, however, topics include abuse––physical and verbal, many scenes dealing with alcoholism, recalls of death, as well as foul language. Reader discretion is advised.

EXCERPT

Beginnings:
My first day of kindergarten, all I remember walking in was seeing a boy—one with hair black as night, and eyes so green and clear I could have been gazing through Mom’s stained-glass suncatcher.
When I learned his name was Saber, I remember “oohing,” completely awestruck. I’d never heard of such a name. It sounded special, matching the boy I saw.
From the unusual way he talked to the expensive clothes he wore, nothing about him blended in. Head to toe, he was exceptional.
I still remember the heart flutters that happened when he stood close to me one day, fixing a broken toy.
“All you need is some muscle behind it,” Saber announced to my playmate as he snapped the red and blue action figure’s knee into place. The glossy white teeth gleaming against his naturally dark skin transfixed me—holding me into place— stealing my heart until the organ didn’t even live in my chest anymore.
That was the day I knew I wanted to marry him.
Me being five years old didn’t matter. I’d met my husband. I even told my mom that when I went home. All she said: “Honey, that is sweet, but remember that you’re young and so much can change.”
Goodness if she wasn’t right.
Not only did life change in the most terrible of ways, but so did Saber.
For him, helping fellow classmates morphed into shoving them to the floor. Laughter transformed into sneers and punches. The “let me help you’s” turned into “get off me, you’re stupid, and I hate you.”
As the years passed, the only part of Saber I could see was those eyes that reminded me of Mom’s kitchen window—but even those glowed differently. Hatred had devoured the kindness that once shined. They grew darker as each year passed.
Eventually, the kid who was going to be my husband became the one I cowered away from in the hallways of our school—more than that, his last name, DuBois, became a representation of an agony cutting so deep that it hollowed my existence, making me believe that death could be a sweet blessing.
And so, the flames of my affection were snuffed out. Never to be revived again.
Or so I thought.

Series: Motts Cold Case Mystery, #3
Genre: Cozy Mystery
Release Date: November 6, 2021
Cover Designer: BookSmith Design

 NOW LIVE!

Mystery beckons when a young woman seeks out budding amateur detective Pineapple “Motts” Mottley to find her missing mother in the third novel of the Motts Cold Case Mystery series.

Murder comes to Motts’s doorstep when a stranger asks her to investigate a suspicious disappearance. Past experience tells her to say no yet her curiosity wins out. What’s the harm in asking a few questions?

The missing person case quickly evolves into murder when a body is found in the strangest circumstances. Motts sifts through various suspects and lies, only to come face to face with danger. Things become even more personal when a killer from her childhood makes an unwelcome appearance.

How many close calls can Motts escape?

Will she survive amidst a flood of beer and a catastrophic inferno?

 Available now!

“I should probably rescue her from the deluge.” Motts went to answer the door. She didn’t know what to say. “Hello.”

That was normal, right?

“Can you find my mum?” her visitor blurted. “Please?”

That was definitely not normal.

Motts blinked a few times, trying to process the question shouted at her. “Pardon?”

“I should’ve called, shouldn’t I?” She shoved damp hair out of her face. “Mikey said you’re autistic and might appreciate a warning. I’ve just…. I’m desperate to find Mum. No one believes she’s gone missing.”

“I’m not the police.” Motts flinched when a crack of thunder crashed overhead. “Okay. Come inside. Everything makes more sense with a mug of tea. Mind the cat, he adopts strangers. Let me find you a towel.”

“Cat?”

Motts waved her inside and pointed to the curious cat who’d come to investigate. “Cactus. Not prickly, mostly fuzzy. The kitchen’s down there. I’ll be a moment.”

Why would Mikey give her my name?

Mikey O’Connell had been the grandson of a woman found floating in the sea in June. Motts had discovered his brother and mum were behind the horrific murder. They’d stayed in touch after the investigation.

Grabbing a towel from the upstairs bathroom, Motts returned to the kitchen. She put the kettle on, grabbed two mismatched mugs, and dropped two slices of bread in the toaster. Everything would hopefully make more sense after breakfast.

“Here.” Motts offered the towel to her.

“Your auntie and my mum are great friends. I’m Paisley. Petunia Lee’s my mum.” She sat in the chair near the fire to dry off. Her whole body seemed to be shaking. “She works at one of the breweries near Looe. Her boyfriend said she left him a note saying she went on holiday.”

“But?” Motts opted for one of the non-caffeinated teas her friend Vina had brought over for her. A lovely blackcurrant-flavoured one that reminded her strongly of Ribena. “Could she be on holiday?”

“Mum’s not one to travel. I can’t remember the last time she took a trip anywhere.” Paisley began to towel dry her hair. She gratefully accepted the second one Motts handed to her. “She wouldn’t go without telling me.”

“Have you tried calling her? What about the police?” Motts wasn’t sure how she could help. “I’m not a detective. I make origami bouquets and quilling art for a living. Don’t think I’m the best first choice.”

“The police said she’s an adult. She can do what she wants.” Paisley huffed in irritation. She wrapped the second towel around herself. “Mikey said you’re great at solving mysteries.”

Mikey’s a liar.

And never invited to the cottage ever again.

Jack
I've been drowning since the death of my wife, but that all changed the moment she walked back into my life. She was my best friend growing up, until one day she left me. I haven't seen her in years, but now that she's back, I can't possibly let her go again. It would kill me.

Christy
I decided to leave the day he told me he was getting married. How could I possibly watch him walk down the aisle and marry another woman? But after being gone for years, events in my life have forced me home. I don't know how I'm going to face him again, or how I'll be strong enough to resist him. He's been the love of my life for years. He just never knew it.

I'm a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, "No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book." I didn't think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn't already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven't been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.
