Synopsis
The boy who remembers everything. I heard she is finally going home today. The brain is very powerful. Her mind is unable to handle the memories of what happened, so it blocked it out. As I watch her, I envy her. I wish I could forget, just wipe away all the ugly and the bad. I’m not as lucky as the pretty, lost girl. I would gladly trade places with her. She has no idea how good forgetting can be.     The girl who forgot everything. I’m going home today. There is nothing the hospital can do to help me remember the last three years. They say I was attacked, but I can't help them find who it was. They say I'll eventually regain my memories but, it takes time. What happens when you run out of time? Regaining my memory becomes a deadly game of life or death.

Excerpt
(Unedited Version. Subject to Change.) Walking into my home could trigger everything I don't remember. I was told the smallest stimulant could unlock what my brain is hiding from me. Part of me hopes it all comes back. The other part, the weak and scared part, wishes I will stay in blissful ignorance. I'm terrified the most to find out what my brain thought was too devastating for me to handle, choosing to block the memories instead. "Well, Willow," Dr. Mason says as he stands to shake my hand. "I will see you next week for our scheduled visit. Good luck." "Thank you," I say to him with a polite smile. I am going to need all the luck I can get. I leave his office and make my way through the quiet halls to the front reception area. My usual headache starts to form. To ease the throb, I rub my forehead with my fingers on my way to freedom. Only a few more feet and I am out of here for good. With my eyes closed, I slam right into a wall. The wall is actually a man with a wide and firm chest. Large hands grip my shoulders to keep me from falling back from the impact. I tilt my head back, looking up to see his face. I'm short, even in my heels, but he has to be over six feet tall. A guy about my age glances down at me quickly with dark, brown eyes. When they finally focus on me, I feel my cheeks heat with embarrassment. I stand frozen as the stranger examines me, from head to toe, like some kind of obstacle that he's trying to figure out. He's intimidating with strong facial features, black hair, and dark eyes. The way his stare drills into me makes me feel he can see all the secrets I can't remember. His grip is firm and steady, holding my body only inches from his own. I can feel the warmth from his wide chest, and I can't decide if it is fear or comfort washing over me. It's a heat that spreads over my entire body, stunning me. The silence becomes suffocating, so I clear my throat and pull out of his hold. "Sorry. I wasn't paying attention," I mumble as I slowly inch away from him. I worry I may have just ran into someone mentally unstable. I have seen people snap here for less and his glare looks unforgiving. His hard stare and tight jaw show no signs of forgiveness. I step around him and keep walking, trying to shake the helpless and useless feelings eating at me. Heat creeps up my neck and to my face with embarrassment. I'm just a young girl that has no idea where she is going, whether it is in the hallway or in life. When I enter the receptionist area, Noah stands from the chair where he had been waiting. I quickly sign all the necessary paperwork and agree to keep my scheduled appointments.

I killed, but I escaped hell.
Emotionless. Disconnected. Cold. A mannequin. It’s what I’d become in order to survive the years held in captivity. I was able to endure the abuse and devastating loss as long as I remained detached.
But he wouldn't let me.
Crisis, the bass guitarist in my brother’s rock band, Tear Asunder. He’s cocky, rude, a total man-whore. But the rock star has far more beneath the surface of his inked skin, and he’s determined to make me laugh again.
He made me a "deal", but really, it was blackmail.
His terms were simple. Until his playful honesty became the building blocks to something unexpected. Something strong enough to pull me from the eye of the storm.

Life is not a love song …

I learnt the hard way that labels stick. Laura took “lovely”, and the teacher branded me “lady-like”.
It stuck with me, even through my high school years. It felt like that was all I’d ever be.

Until everything changed.

Lonely Lia.
Little Lia.
Lia the liar.
Lia the lost …

Now the choices are endless. But I don’t want to be any of those either. My name is Lia Stanton. And this is my story.

Book Trailer

Excerpt

She walks up the stairs, and straight away my heart leaps from my chest, beating a staccato that raps into my throat, the pulse point at my wrist, all throughout my body. I go from steady to strung-out in the blink of an eye.

"Mum," I call, and this time on the staircase, she spins around.

"Yes?" She frowns.

Don't go up there,

I try to say the words, but my stupid voice won't work. My mouth moves, but no sound comes out, and Mum tilts her head to the side. "Lia ..."

Don't!

I try to scream so loud my lungs hurt, and still, nothing.

Don't go into your bedroom.

You can't see that.

It will ruin you.

"Lia, you're normally such a sensible girl." She sighs and turns her back, then walks up the stairs again.

My voice mightn't work but my feet do, and I charge after her, leaping up those stairs two at a time. She floats down the hall toward their room, and I run, run as fast as I can, and grab onto her shoulder just as she tightens her grip on the door.

"Lia, will you drop it?" She turns to face me. "I'm just going to see if your father is home. What harm could I possibly do?"

My stupid voice is without once again, and as I try to yell at her, to tell her that no, she shouldn't go in there, that seeing what's behind that door will destroy her—

She twists the handle.

She opens the door.

And she screams.

And straight away I'm back on the couch, hearing that blood-curdling noise that chills me to my very bones, that signifies the start of the end of life as I know it. I race up the stairs to try help her, to try and make it stop, but when I get there she has collapsed in the hall.

She's broken. And nothing I try to do will fix that.

Excerpt

I am completely overwhelmed. My core is on fire and I want so much to kiss him, to touch him. I feel sparks of electricity shoot through every fiber in my body and every nerve ending is screaming for release. I want his hands on me, all over me.

“Amare?”

I put my hands on his chest and push him away. He’s too close, making it hard to form a single thought. I take two steps to the side to put some distance between us so I can speak like a human, not a lust induced zombie. “Yes, they towed my car and it’s in their lot. I haven’t really spoken to them about it yet. I kind of fell asleep on them…”

His face clouds over and he says, “You kind of fell asleep on them? What. Does. That. Mean?” He pauses between each word and growls them at me.

“Jonas took me to see Doc Jordan and he gave me something for the pain, but because I hadn’t slept in days it made me sleepy. I think he ended up carrying me to their clubhouse.” I realize how all this must sound. If someone told me that exact same story, I would be thinking the worst.

“Did they touch you, Amare?” he growls at me, his eyes blazing with anger.

“No, no, no! In fact, Jonas put a guard on my door so no one would go near me. Not that they would. I was safe, Sal.” Something crosses his face and he stares at me so intently that I look away and stare at the floor. He moves back into my space and lifts my head up. “Thank you for getting me coffee. Let’s go have breakfast and I’m buying. I think I shall keep you in my sights to make sure nothing else happens to you. I have never met a woman who allows herself to get into so many dangerous situations, in such a short space in time. You, my Amare, are a handful.” He moves away from me and does up his shirt, then grabs his jacket. He opens the door to his room and extends his arm. “Shall we?” he asks, offering me a smile that reveals his dimple. My core clenches again and I have to fight the urge to throw myself at him.

Title: Wrong
Authors: LP Lovell & Stevie J. Cole
 Release Date: June 2, 2015
trailer for Wrong by LP Lovell & Stevie J. Cole

Blurb

Tor

My life was everything I wanted it to be. It was mapped out and planned. I wanted it all, the career, the right husband, the white picket fence and kids. Until he was thrust into my world, ripping me from it. My carefully planned life shattered, proving to be nothing more than a cheap illusion, and now I’m living in this twisted form of hell, where enemies and friends are one and the same. I thought I wanted perfection. Now I don’t know what I want - perhaps not even my own freedom.

Jude

I define wrong. I thrive on the corrupted greed of others, on their trivial hope, and their false optimism. I am the bookie, and the bookie always wins. For those whose hopes far outweigh the depths of their pockets, well, let’s just say paying with your life is not just a figure of speech.

I have always been in control, until suddenly I’m not any more. The day one of my collectors dragged her into my office as payment on a debt, I should have killed them both right there, but I didn’t. Now she threatens my control, threatens everything I’ve built, and yet I still can’t kill her. Why can’t I kill her?

By the time I’m done with her, she may pray for death.

Everything is not always as it seems. Lust, blood, lies…Nothing this wrong should feel so right.

Stevie J. Cole

I love writing (obvious since I'm on here, right?) I don't have a specific genre - I just write whatever story manifests itself inside my brain.

Writing is like therapy. There is nothing else that I can lose myself in the way I can a story. It amazes me that words can take you away from reality and leave you in a dazed state once you've finished.

Aside from writing, I love sloths and mythology. I kind of have a thing for vampires, because let's face it, something about the fact that they fight the urge to bite your neck and drain the life from you is rather sexy. I have an irrational fear of the zombie apocalypse. I honestly cannot imagine a more horrifying way to go than by being ripped to shreds by a mass of mumbling, decaying, and oozing corpses with clicking teeth. Ugh! I just shuddered typing it.

Now the boring basics: I'm married with two wonderful children. I grew up in the south listening to a ton of grunge rock. Me and my sister have an obsession with going to concerts and getting front and center. We often fight over who can get the most swag from the band. I have an unhealthy obsession with Russell Brand's mind, and the smell of crayons is the most soothing smell there is.

I hope if you read my work that you will enjoy it. After all, writing is the most amazing magic trick of all... it puts the reader in the mind of the writer (kind of creepy if you think about it). It's scary inside my brain, watch out!

I hope you love my little worlds as much as I do.

Xx- Stevie J
