| Girl Long Gone looked exciting from the blurb, but it fell flat for me. It took me a bit to finish it. I expected alot more suspense, to keep my interest, but after a couple of chapters you can pretty much figure out what was going to happen. For a Dectective Conner seemed to be all over the place, and we can't forget the insta-love aspect between Evelyn and him. The ending seemed abrupt, I would of liked to have to see how Monica is dealing with what happened to her. If you like romantic suspense then this one is for you. I will say they are some parts that were hard to read. I received this from Netgalley. | ||

shards pierced his skin, but he relished the pain.
Pain was good.
Pain brought pleasure.
What he didn’t like was a dumb bitch who thought she was smarter than him. He’d done his research. Lacey Pierson lived with Evelyn. Their whole charade about bumping into each other was laughable. Did they really think they could play him?
No, he was the one who played the game. Evelyn was the little mouse he couldn’t wait to play with. As the two women left the restaurant, he sat. He lifted his glass and swirled, clinking the ice together as a grin spread across his face. The game had already begun, and Evelyn didn’t even realize it.
He brought his glass to his lips and tilted his head back, swallowing the liquor in one gulp. The scotch burned all the way to the pit of his stomach, its heat combining with the fire lit by his desire to see this little game through. A game of cat and mouse.
He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and laughed. The mouse might be outside of his reach at the moment, but his kitty waited for him. He slammed the glass down, threw a few bills on the table, and stood to leave as desire raged inside him. Excitement tickled his nerve endings.
His evening with Evelyn might have been cut short, but the night was young. Hours of playtime waited for him.
But first, he needed to wait for Evelyn to follow the breadcrumbs he’d laid at her feet and run to her fucking cop. They’d come for him tonight, and he had to make sure to set the stage.

Danielle grew up with a love of reading, partly due to her namesake—Danielle Steele. It seemed as though she was born to write out the same love stories she devoured while growing up.
She attended Bowling Green State University with a dream of studying creative writing, but the thought of sharing her work in front of a group of strangers was enough to make her change her major to Political Science.
After college she moved across the state of Ohio with her soon-to-be husband. Once they married and had babies, she decided to stay home and raise her children. Some days her sanity slipped further across the line to crazy town so she decided to brush off her rusty writing chops and see what happened.
